Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children in the United States. Proper use of child car safety seats decreases the risk of fatal injury by 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers (National Safety Council). Still, unfortunately, 95% of car seats in the United States are improperly installed (Journal of Pediatrics). Selecting the correct car seat for your child’s size and properly installing it is critical to a safe ride every time they are in a motor vehicle. Child Care Aware of Virginia designed this course for parents, caregivers, child care providers, or anyone transporting children in their motor vehicle.
This course will cover:
- The importance of car seat safety
- Types of car seats
